Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a priority here

New Community is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk.

We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We take any concerns about children, young people and adults at risk seriously and want anyone who comes into contact with us to feel safe and valued.

We believe that everyone has the right to be treated with respect and dignity, and protected from all forms of abuse, and are grieved that such harms happen. We are committed to playing our part in creating a safe and welcoming environment so that everyone can feel at home.

We seek to offer pastoral care and support to anyone affected by harm and abuse. We will challenge any abuse of power by anyone in a position of trust and take care, protection and safeguarding of all our members seriously.

We are committed to following and implementing statutory legislation and guidelines in relation to safeguarding children and adults and that all staff and volunteers work within the agreed procedures as set out in our safeguarding policy.

We seek to offer appropriate support and supervision, including referral to the proper authorities, to any person known to have offended against a child, young person or adult at risk.

If you have a concern, you can contact our safeguarding team at: safe@newcom.church. In an emergency, please call 999 or for independent advice, please contact our safeguarding partners, Thirtyone:eight on 0303 003 1111.
