Students
Here at New Community, we love students!
We are a church made up of a wide body of people in Sidcup, Eltham and across SE London, and we love that our local students are a part of our family here too.
Whether you are studying at the University of Greenwich, Bird College, Rose Bruford College or another local university, we'd love for you to join us.
What's on for students?
There is always lots going on for our students at New Com, whether that's joining us for food and a drink at the pub after our 3.30 meeting, one of our student events or midweek for community.
Our students do life together with church family in smaller mid-week gatherings we call communities. This is a chance to meet new people, build new friendships & grow together in God. You can sign up to get connected and take your first steps to joining a community here.
Student Events
Our student events run fortnightly on a Thursday evening from 7.30-9.30pm.
We meet as a group of young adults to share life as friends and explore faith together. These are a mix of socials, often including games and sharing food together, as well as equipping nights where we will read the Bible together, have a time of worship, ask questions and pray together.
An insight into our prayer for our students:
Our vision for the students at New Community is that they will grow to be faithful disciples who love Jesus! To see them serving in church life, growing spirituality in their knowledge of the Bible as budding evangelists.
There are three core things we desire as a church to see.
1. See them saved.
To see our students saved and transformed from the inside out by the love of God.
2. See them baptised.
To watch our students publicly declare to seek to faithfully follow Jesus for the rest of their lives.
3. See them sent out to do the same.
For our students to learn key evangelistic tools to share the gospel passionately and lovingly. We desire to see our students changed by the love of God that they cannot help but tell others the good news.
