Hello!

Welcome to New Community! Whether you’re just checking us out online or have recently visited one of our Sunday meetings, we’re so glad you’re here.

Welcome

Come get to know us

We gather as a church family every Sunday to worship, hear teaching from the Bible, and to enjoy community. We have multiple Sunday meetings in Sidcup and Eltham as well as smaller groups called communities that meet mid-week to share in friendship, food and learn more about Jesus together. We would love to invite you to join us - everybody is welcome!

What to expect

A friendly welcome from the Host Team, followed by a time of worship, some updates and stories, and a talk from the Bible. The meetings are followed by refreshments so we’d love for you to stick around at the end to connect with people!

Questions

We’ve answered the things people usually ask before their first visit.

Do I need to be a Christian to attend?

You are so welcome to come, no matter where you’re at in your faith. Every week there are people who are exploring faith, many whom have never stepped foot into a church before.

Find out more about who Jesus is here.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, absolutely! We love having children with us and we run a brilliant Kids Church for all under 11s. You will need to register your child with us on a Sunday (a quick and simple process), and you can drop them off up to 10 minutes before the start of the adult meeting to make sure they are settled. All of our Kids Church team are DBS checked.

What about youth?

Our youth gather regularly during the talk on a Sunday, often in set age groups. This varies from meeting to meeting so do check out the specifics here. We also have regular midweek gatherings for our youth on Tuesdays and Fridays in the form of Youth Community, Friday Fun Nights and Youth Cafe.

What happens during the service?

A friendly welcome from the Host Team, followed by a time of worship, some updates and stories, and a talk from the Bible. The meetings are followed by refreshments so we’d love for you to stick around at the end to connect with people!

How long do the church services last?

About an hour and a half.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code, just come in whatever you are comfortable wearing.

Do you livestream your services?

In a world of screens, we love that church is a gathering of real people where we can care for, serve, and worship alongside one another. Because we prioritise that face-to-face connection, we don't publicly live-stream, but we’re always happy to provide a link for those whose health or circumstances keep them at home. You can also catch up on Sunday messages right here.

Do I need to book a seat?

No! Simply arrive early to find a seat where you feel comfortable. There will be space for everyone, and if you’d like to let us know you’re coming, you can do so through our Contact page.

Is the building accessible?

The ground floor of our Sidcup building is accessible through our side entrance, meaning that our Cafe and main hall, which is used for our Sunday meetings, is accessible for all. Unfortunately access to the upstairs of our building is by stairs only.

The building for our Sunday gatherings in Eltham is fully accessible.

Is there parking available?

Sidcup: There is no parking at our building (other than disabled parking) but there are plenty of spaces on the streets surrounding the church building.

Eltham: There is no parking at the school, so the best place to park is in the Orangery Lane Car Park just behind the school.

Do you have Sunday meetings in Albany Park?

We have an “Open Space” gathering on Sunday afternoons once a month in St Andrew's Church, Albany Park. Find out more here.
