Habits of a Disciple

Growing as a Disciple

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit"(John 15:16)

"Discipleship is not an option. Jesus says that if anyone would come after me, he must follow me."
~ Tim Keller

When we use the word "disciple", we mean learners who are learning to follow Jesus in every aspect of our lives. We are committed to knowing and growing in Christ, and cultivating habits that facilitate that.

Disciples;

  • Give God time daily

  • Exercise faith

  • Commit to grow

Habits of a Disciple

Give God time daily

Spending time in the presence of God is one of the great joys of the Christian life. But what does that look like in practice?

There's no one way to answer that (and the Bible says literally nothing about having a daily "quiet time"!) but, as we read scripture and learn from other believers throughout history, we see that there are some common practices (sometimes called "spiritual disciplines") that will, if practiced daily, help you grow in your relationship with God.
