Can we trust the Bible?

Christians believe the Bible is God’s revelation to us and that it has a central place in shaping our faith and lives. But it is natural to ask an important question: can we really trust it?

The Bible is not a single book written at one time. It is a collection of writings produced over many centuries by different authors, yet it tells one unfolding story about God’s relationship with humanity and his rescue plan through Jesus.

Many people are surprised to discover that the Bible is one of the most carefully preserved and historically supported texts from the ancient world. The New Testament, in particular, is based on eyewitness testimony written within the lifetime of those who saw the events it describes. Over time, historians and scholars have examined its reliability closely, and there are good reasons to take its claims seriously.

Christians do not trust the Bible simply because it is old or widely respected. We trust it because it consistently points us to Jesus, and because millions of people across history and around the world have discovered that its message is true and life-giving.
