Marked by Grace

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast"

Grace sits at the very heart of the Christian life.

We do not begin our journey with God through effort or achievement. We begin through grace. And we continue through grace. From first to last, the Christian life is sustained by what God has done for us in Jesus.

Grace means that salvation is a gift. It cannot be earned, improved, or secured by our performance. It is given freely because of God’s love.

Grace is not only how the Christian life begins. It is how it continues.

Sometimes people assume grace only matters at the start of faith, and that after that we grow by trying harder. The Bible teaches something different. We grow the same way we began: by trusting Jesus and depending on him.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast"
(Ephesians 2:8)

"Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home." - John Newton
